Visio and Omnigraffle for the UX documents, pen and paper for the first phase. Lots and lots of photoshop for the visualisation of the screens and then a delicately crafted xhtml, css and javascript+jQuery prototype.
Together with another IA we penned the layout and the personas & scenarios on paper. He quickly produced the user journey document with nicely annotated wireframes which I then used as the basis for visualising the application in Photoshop. Then it was over to Aptana where I created a sexy iPhone template (ok, so I nicked it from my previous iPhone project) with xhtml, css and javascript. The stellar jQuery framework turned a weeks work into 2 days.
The prospective client loved the results although the biggest win for our prototype was that we were invited to pitch for two unrelated clients who just loved what we had done. We now have several iPhone and Android projects in the diary this spring 2009!
